Emergency Department nurses will go on strike on December 15th.

INMO members voted overwhelmingly in favour of industrial action that will include a strike.

INMO General Secretary Liam Doran says the strike will continue on an on-going basis into the new year until nurses' demands are met.

Nurses say that Emergency Departments are overcrowded and understaffed and that they feel ignored by the government and management.

The INMO is to notify the HSE in the coming days which hospitals will be involved on the 15th but say that an all-out, nationwide strike is a possibility in the new year.

One A&E from each of these groups will go off call on Dec 15th.
