Gardaí are investigating after the body of a woman in her 80's was found at her home in Wexford town at around half past nine on Friday night.
The grim discovery was made after Gardaí entered her home following reports that she had not been seen by anybody in the area in recent months.
It is now thought that the woman's body may have lying there for up to two months.
Her body was transferred to University Hospital Waterford where a post mortem is due to be carried out later this week.
At this point it understood that Gardaí are not treating the woman’s death as suspicious.
