An elderly man has died in a house fire in Cabinteely after a blaze broke out last night.
The alarm was raised shortly after 7:40pm at a house on Monaloe Crescent.
Twenty firefighters, three units of the fire brigade, a senior officer, emergency services and gardai attended the scene.
The body of a pensioner believed to be in his 80s was found in the house while another man was treated for smoke inhilation.
Gardai are to carry out a forensic examination of the scene today.
