A 34 year old Dublin man has appeared in court in Spain in connection with the murder of Gary Hutch. The 33 year old was the first victim of the Hutch/Kinahan gangland feud.

He was gunned down in September 2015 at the apartment complex where he lived near Marbella. His murder sparked the current gangland feud which nine more shootings have been linked with.

Earlier this week a 34 year old man was arrested in Spain in connection with Gary’s murder. The man, who is originally from the south inner city, appeared in court in Fuengirola and was remanded in custody.

Spanish courts work differently to ours and the case is still at an investigation stage and no formal charges have been put to him yet.

Yesterday, the Dubliner was arrested during a cooperative effort between Spanish and Irish authorities.

Gardai and the Guardia Civil had carried out a a number of searches in Dublin and Spain, with the hope of uncovering evidence to prosecute people involved in serious organised crime.

Cash, documents and a yacht have been seized in the massive operation.
