A Dublin-based invitation and stationary company has started shredding lies ahead of next month's referendum on marriage equality into confetti.

Daintree Paper on Camden Street has launched an initiative called A Shred of Decency, which will raise money to help a group calling for a yes vote on May 22nd fund its campaign.

The company said "When paper was used to spread some ugly lies in the run up to the marriage equality referendum we weren’t one bit happy."

"So we put our heads together and came up with a new product called ‘A Shred of decency’ – it’s confetti made from 100% recycled lies."

The company is also inviting people who are handed leaflets that they don't agree with, to drop the paper into their store on Camden Street where they will shred it into confetti which will be sold to raise money tp help fund the Yes campaign.
