A solicitor has appeared in court charged with having cocaine in his possession with the intention of conveying it to a prisoner at Mountjoy prison.
Aonghus McCarthy from Clancy Quay, Dublin 8 is alleged to have had the drug in his wallet during a professional visit on February 8th last.
The 33-year-old, whose office is right across the road from the Criminal Courts of Justice, denied the allegation following his arrest.
He was remanded on bail today and is due to appear in court again this day week.
