A Status Yellow Rainfall Warning has been issued for Munster and Leinster.

Here in Dublin, there are reports of flooding on the Ballymun road onto the Old Airport road and at Northern Cross in Clarehall causing long delays.

The Strawberry Beds is impassible, as is Estuary Road in Malahide between Seabury and the N1 Swords Road flyover.

Cork, Kerry and Clare are the worst hit by the rain - with up to 50 millimetres expected to fall.

In Clare, emergency services have advised motorists not to make any unnecessary journeys as dozens of routes have been left impassable.
