Dublin is getting a Rockefeller-style Christmas tree this year.
It'll be 50ft tall and take centre stage around the Custom House Quarter as part of a new festival, which organisers say will focus on supporting Irish businesses, traders, craftspeople, producers and charities.
I BELIEVE will run for 28 days is expected to create 230 seasonal jobs and generate over €8M for the economy.
Lord Mayor of Dublin, Críona Ní Dhálaigh, said "It’s a fantastic opportunity for us to put Dublin on the European ‘Christmas market map’ and to showcase some of the country’s leading food, drink, craft and horticultureproducers."
"Custom House Quarter is a unique venue, which is close to the city centre and extremely well-served by public transport, with numerous buses, LUAS and Dart right on their doorstep, so I have no doubt that it will do fantastically", she added.
Irish Charities including Temple Street Foundation, Simon Communities Ireland, ISPCC Childline, Barretstown, Inner City Helping Homeless, Society of St. Vincent de Paul and Christina Noble Children’s Foundation will benefit from its work.
I BELIEVE will run from Thursday, 26th November until Wednesday, 23rd December at the exceptional setting of Custom House Quarter in Dublin, which includes George’s Dock, The chq Building and its surrounding area.
