Children as young as 11 have been involved in football matches that have been ''abandoned because of violent incidents''.
Dublin and District Schoolboys League says on more than one occasion, adults became involved ending with them verbally or physically striking out at young players.
In a statement to the Herald - the league said it fears the rise in violence could result in ''serious injury''.
Seven matches have been abandoned in the past six weeks and three of those matches were under-12 games.
It says if there's anymore incidents- teams could be removed from the league.
