Dublin Fire Brigade is owed more than half a million euro in unpaid call out fees.
The charge is for emergency services to attend house fires and crashes.
Charges for call out to domestic fires at a cost of 500 euro and attending the scene of car crashes at over 600, only came into force in January 2012.
Since then the fire brigade has attended more than 2800 domestic and traffic calls.
The work should have earned them almost 1.2 million but around 517 thousand euro remains outstanding.
The charge was introduced as a contribution to the cost of running the fire service.
However up to the end of November last year just under 53 percent of the costs were collected.
