Dublin’s bidding to become the European Capital of Culture in 2020.
The city will go up against Galway, Limerick and other countries abroad for the honour.
It’s one of the actions contained in the new Dublin City Council Arts Plan which is being launched later.
The strategy also contains plans to turn the area around Foley street, Amiens Street and Talbot Street into a Cultural Quarter.
City Arts Officer Ray Yeates has told 98fm that theres a transformation happening in the area.
