Drinkaware.ie Ask People To Be Drink Aware

If you're planning to drink this St Patrick's Day, you are being asked to do so responsibly and not succumb to the 'drunken Irish' stereotype.

That's the message from drinkaware.ie who say they are tired of the increasingly jaded title given to Irish revellers.

Fionnuala Sheehan CEO of drinkaware.ie, said 'although we're drinking 20 percent less compared with a decade ago, when we drink we tend to drink too much and too fast'.

Official partners of Dublin's St Patrick's Festival, drinkaware.ie are extending the 'Reclaim Your Weekend' campaign which is aimed at encouraging people to pace their drinking, by drinking less, and at a slower pace.

She also says eating a meal helps the body to process the alcohol:
