The Director of Public Prosecutions is considering further charges in the case of a barrister accused of murdering a man on his land in Tallaght.

Diarmuid Phelan, who's also a lecturer of law at Trinity College Dublin, appeared in court on bail today.

Diarmuid Phelan is accused of shooting Keith Conlon in the back of the head with a legally held revolver on his land at Hazelgrove Farm in Tallaght on February 22nd.

The 53 year old barrister was initially denied bail but that decision was overturned on appeal and he appeared in person today to be told the book of evidence isn’t yet ready to be handed over to him but should be ready for service in September.

The judge was also told the DPP is considering a recommendation to bring further charges.

Mr Phelan was twice told to come forward from the public gallery but didn’t address the court directly.

His solicitor expressed his concern with the delay but there was no objection to the adjournment.

An application to change his bail conditions will be made next Monday.
