Gardai have begun a major shakedown of suspected drug dealers in the north inner city following a six month covert operation.
With the help of the local community, Operation Tempest targeted the sale and supply of heroin, cocaine and other drugs in the area.
As a direct result of this covert operation, almost 100 charges are expected to be brought against 45 suspected drug dealers in the area.
It was rolled out with the help of local residents who have been engaging with community Gardai to rid their streets of drugs and the people who sell them.
Eight thousand residents were interviewed as part of a new approach which aims to provide a more community focused approach to policing.
Following six months of police work, a major search and arrest operation is now underway.
So far, it's resulted in 30 arrests and those who've been charged with drug dealing offences are due in court later this week.
