Stars including Johnny Depp, Bono and Nick Cave paid tribute to Dolores O'Riordan at a concert in Dublin last night.

They were celebrating The Pogues singer Shane McGowan's 60th birthday at the National Concert Hall.

Catatonia's Cerys Mathews dedicated the song The Broad Majestic Shannon to the Limerick singer at the National Concert Hall.

Police in London say they're continuing to investigate the sudden and unexplained death of the music icon.

The lead singer of The Cranberries  was in London for a short recording session. She was 46 years old.

Her family says they are "devastated" and have requested privacy at this "very difficult time".

Limerick woman Dolores O'Riordan shot to fame in the 1990s as leadsinger with the band The Cranberries.

Their debut album "everybody else is going it so what can't we" was a massive success with hits including Linger and Dreams.

Their following up album "No Need to Argue" was the bands biggest selling record and their single Zombie became a world wide hit.

In recent years Dolores O'Riordan had been working on solo material and was in London for a short recording session when the tragic news broke.

O'Riordan was married to Don Burton for 20 years before divorcing in 2014 and they have 3 three children together.

A statement says family members are devastated and have requested privacy at this very difficult time.
