Dun Laoghaire Rathdown County Council is being accused of bowing to the demands of fast food giant KFC.

It's after their Chief Executive Philomena Poole has recommended the deletion of a clause relating to the location of fast-food outlets near schools and parks from its draft development plan.

Last week KFC stated that the proposal could have serious implications for future investment and jobs in the area.

But Local TD Richard Boyd-Barrett has hit back descrbing the recommendation to remove it as “outrageous”. saying “The county manager has bowed to this pressure from one multinational.

Councillors will be able to have their say on the motion on the 24th of September.
