The redevelopment of the Docklands has been given the green light.
An Bord Pleanala has approved the redevelopment of the North Lotts and Grand Canal Dock area.
The rezoning scheme allows for 2600 apartments to be built on 50 acres of undeveloped land.
Up to 366 thousand square meters of office space will also be constructed under the plans.
Once completed the population of the area is expected to increase by 5800 and almost 23 thousand more people will be employed there.
