A decision on whether DART underground will go ahead will be made next week.

The Public Spending Minister says transport projects will get as much money next year as they did this year.

Dubliners have been waiting to see what new transport projects will get the green light from Government in their spending plan for next few years.

The new link from Swords and Dublin Airport into the city centre was supposed to be revealed over the summer but that's going to be unveiled as part of this document.

While a final decision will be made on DART underground, planning permission for which runs out on September 24th.

Public expenditure minister Brendan Howlin says they've taken all projects under consideration:

"Traditionally, about 30 percent of all capital spend is in the transport area and you'll see something like that reflected. It will reflect the most recent analysis done by the Department of Transport about what the city and the environs of Dublin needs."

He added that all will be revealed shortly:

"I hope to have it finalised within the next week or so. And I think you will see that it will meet the analysis that we have done of the needs of Ireland."

The capital spending announcement will mostly likely be made when the Dail returns from its summer break next week.
