DCC Gets Go Ahead To Seek Planning For More Houses

Dublin City Council has been given the go ahead to seek planning to build houses on all the land that it owns.

Last night, councillors voted in favour of the move - which it's hoped will lead to a social hosing building programme.

Assistant City Manager Gerry Geraghty says they have a number of sites earmarked already:

Meanwhile, the Society of Chartered Surveyors Ireland is calling for a Housing Authority to be established to deal with the housing crisis.

The group is today publishing details of a report into creating affordable housing options.
