Teenagers across Europe are becoming more exposed to cyberbullying and dangerous websites, but Irish children are taking fewer risks.
A new report from the EU Kids Online study shows an increase in the number of 11 to 16 year olds being exposed to hate messages online since 2010.
There are also increases in the number of those accessing pro-anorexia, self-harm and cyberbullying sites.
Researchers say Ireland scored lower than most of the 33 countries surveyed for these risks due to low levels of internet use and higher than average parental restrictions.
