COVID-19: Eight More Deaths, 330 New Cases

There have been eight more COVID-19 related deaths and 330 new cases here.

That's the lowest daily figure of cases in the last 10 days.

There's now been a total of 2,018 COVID-19 related deaths and 69,802 confirmed cases in Ireland.

This includes the denotification of one confirmed case.

Of the cases notified today:

  • 171 are men / 155 are women
  • 64% are under 45 years of age
  • The median age is 37 years old

Some 99 cases are in Dublin, 28 in Cork, 26 in Louth, 25 in Meath and21 in Donegal.

The remaining 131 cases are spread across 20 other counties.

As of 2.00pm on Friday, 283 COVID-19 patients are hospitalised - of which 33 are in ICU.

There have been 13 additional hospitalisations in the past 24 hours.

Meanwhile the national 14-day incidence rate per 100,000 people has fallen to 113.1 - with the rates in Donegal and Limerick remaining over 200.

Several counties have an incidence rate of under 100 - with Wicklow (67.4), Galway (66.3) and Wexford (42.1) having the lowest rates in the country.
