There have been 1,071 new cases of COVID-19 in Ireland.

It’s the fourth day in a row there have been more than 1,000 daily cases.

The five-day moving average of new cases now stands at 1,159.

Health officials say they're "continuing to see a rise in incidence of disease across all key indicators".

The 14-day incidence of COVID-19 is now the highest it’s been since 24th February, at 231 cases per 100,000.

As of this morning, there were 101 COVID-19 patients being treated in Irish hospitals - the first time the figure has risen above 100 since late May.

However, ICU numbers have remained steady - with 20 patients in intensive care with the virus, down slightly from the numbers reported over the weekend.

Almost 5.2 million COVID-19 vaccines have now been administered in Ireland - with over 77% of adults partially vaccinated and 64% fully vaccinated.
