The family of a Limerick man who was killed in the US will find out today if they can bring his two children home.

Jason Corbett died in a domestic incident in North Carolina earlier this month.

A court hearing takes place later today to decide if Jason's children Jack and Sarah can return to Ireland with their aunt and her husband.

Mr Corbett's sister Tracey Lynch and her husband David were given guardianship of the children following a court decision on Wednesday night.

They'd been in the care of their stepmother Molly Martens until then.

The court will decide today if her bid for custody of the children will be thrown out.

Jason Corbett died in what police say was a domestic incident at his North Carolina home earlier this month.

Officers are not looking for anyone outside the home in relation to his death.

Mr Corbett's family say they won't bury him until his children can be present for his funeral.
