Counsellors are calling for more funding for services at Ireland's colleges and universities.
It comes as an ongoing study shows more than 10 thousand students sought help last year.
That compares to just under 4 thousand between 2007 and 2008, and around 8 thousand two years ago.
The research is being carried out by reach-out-dot-com and the Irish Association of University and College Counsellors.
