Councillor Urging Dubliners To Vote Against Mayor Proposals

A Fine Gael Councillor is urging Dubliners to vote against plans for a directly elected mayor of the city.

It’s one of the topics being discussed at the party’s Ard Fheis taking place in the RDS.

We’re being asked on the 23rd of May whether or not Dublin should have one mayor instead of four.

But Councillor Patricia Stewart from Dun Laoghaire Rathdown says the proposal will take power away from local councils.
