The pedestrianisation of city centre streets, social home retrofits, bike parking and electric charging points.

They're just some of the proposals set out in Dublin City Council's Climate Change Action Plan.

Under the government's Climate Action framework, each local authority has to submit its proposals to the Climate Action Minister Richard Bruton.

Councillors will present their plan to Government today.

In total, there are over 200 actions they want to take in tackling climate and biodiversity issues.

Forward Thinking

Celine Reilly from Dublin City Council says members of the local authority were very forward thinking.

"Back in 2015 and 2016, they actually got a little group together with staff to look at drawing up proposals for a plan.

She said "Earlier this year we actually went out for public consultation.

"Before the consultation we had maybe 180 actions, we now have around 220 actions.

She continued "We going to be trying to update that on a yearly basis."
