Dublin City Council has agreed to alter a controversial sea wall opposite St. Annes Park after local objected to the height of the wall being built there.
The local authority was forced to open a second public gallery last night at a packed meeting about the wall which is blocking sea views.
The council has agreed to alter the wall to try to improve relations with locals but has said it can't change its height due to flooding regulations.
It will instead alter the appearance of the wall so it blends more into the surrounding landscape.
The footpath and cycle way will be built up so that its never higher than one metre from the ground.
The council said that lessons should be learned around the public consultation process after residents said they never knew the wall would be so high.
