The HSE says contingency plans are in place for the expected strike by nurses next week.
Members of the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation will down tools at seven hospitals across the country, including Beaumont and Tallaght, from 8am on Tuesday.
They're taking the action over working conditions at emergency departments, but the HSE says the main sticking point now is over pay.
