Proposed changes to bus routes under the new BusConnects scheme are facing opposition.
The National Transport Authority says the new plans introduce better infrastructure and bus lanes, improved fares and ticketing, and a redesigned bus network.
They say commuters from Dublin, Kildare, Meath and Wicklow will benefit from improved connectivity on services.
However, opponents say there are too many changes for commuters and that some stops are unsuitable or unsafe for women, pensioners and people with disabilities.
Independent TD Joan Collins isn't on board with the proposed changes.
She argued: "If you take where I live in Inchicore... they're offering a number 63 every hour - and that's going Citywest down to the Point.
"With traffic down the Point and all around there, we won't see that bus every hour - it's just not going to happen."
Finna Fáil also raised concerns about the proposals, saying it cannot be used as a way of reducing services.
The party's tourism spokesperson Robert Troy said: Many of the proposals contained in the plan are positive, such as the simplification of the fares structure and the introduction of orbital routes.
"However, serious concerns have been raised regarding other aspects of the plan.
He added: "In some cases entire routes are being axed completely leaving communities without a reliable direct access service to the city centre. This is completely unacceptable and needs to be addressed following the consultation process."
