It's emerged that some Irish third level colleges are deliberately NOT filling places on some courses - in order to maintain their high CAO points requirement.
The move is apparently designed to boost the desirability of courses, and the prestige of the colleges.
The Sunday Business Post reports today that a working group which uncovered the practice wants colleges to reveal the number of places available on each course.
