Students will be able to avail of pop-up vaccination centres when they return to college.

Further and Higher Education Minister Simon Harris says the plan is aimed at making it convenient for students and staff to get fully vaccinated at the start of the academic year.

Some campuses are already home to dedicated vaccine centres, while others will now get these new pop-up centres.

Other students will be able to get a jab through on-campus GP clinics.

Minister Harris said: "22 colleges across the country will benefit from these iniatives... this will be hugely significant."

The minister has said college campuses have been largely closed for the past 18 months, but now tens of thousands of students are returning to college life.

He said it's a "massive level of reopening" that encompasses not just the return to lecture halls but also the return of college societies and on-campus socialising.
