South Dublin County Council's looking for builders to work on a new visitor centre at Clondalkin's historic round tower.
Last year the local authority announced the 1.6 million euro development, after requests from groups to turn the site into a tourist attraction.
Plans for the centre and gardens have progressed to the next stage and now the local authority wants contractors to carry out the necessary upgrades.
Five houses on Millview Terrace and Tower Road will be refurbished and extended to host the centre which will tell the story of early monastic life.
