The jury in the trial of a Clondalkin man accused of murdering a young mother at a hotel in Tallaght is due to begin hearing evidence this morning.
Earlier this week, Eric Locke of St. John’s Park East, in Clondalkin pleaded not guilty to the murder of Sonia Blount.
The body of Ms. Blount, a 30 year old mother of one, was found in room 346 at The Plaza Hotel in Tallaght, on February 16th last year.
The room was declared a crime scene, and Eric Locke appeared in court two days later charged with her murder.
He pleaded not guilty when he was arraigned before the Central Criminal Court on Monday and a jury of eight men and four women were sworn in.
The prosecution will open its case later this morning.
The trial is expected to last up to six days.
