Plans to build homes for 21,000 people in a new town at Clonburris are expected to be given the green light this week.
However concerns have been raised about the quality of plans for this new town which will be about the size of Balbriggan and developed on land stretching from Adamstown to Clondalkin.

There's potential for shops, restaurants, offices and schools, while a new orbital bus route would carry passengers between Tallaght, Blanchardstown and the Luas.
But there's no specification on how many homes must be built before trains will stop at the Kishoge station; and local residents and councillors alike say the transport don't seem to take into account how heavy the traffic already is in the area.
Mayor of South Dublin County Council, Paul Gogarty, has told 98FM News "the only way Clonburris will work is if people live very close to the train stations and if there's interconnecting orbital bus routes ready to go when they move in. Otherwise it's just going to be another planning disaster."
As part of the proposals, developers have earmarked land for schools but there are no guarantees they will actually be built.
Despite all this, South Dublin County Council is expected to give the project the go-ahead. If they don't, it will be appealed to An Bord Pleanála under Strategic Development Zone laws, which means local reps won't have the power to block any future changes or amendments to the plans.
