Buskers may soon have to audition to perform in the city centre.
Councillors are meeting today to discuss a range of proposed changes to new bye-laws, which came into force in April.
It had previously been agreed that the rules would be reviewed six months after being introduced.
Amongst the proposals street performers would need a special permit for Grafton Street, restrictions on busking outside the GPO and only dance troupes of three people or less will be able to perform outside the Stephen's Green Shopping Centre entrance.
However there are no plans to ban amps, an issue which has many businesses up in arms.
Local councillor Mannix Flynn says he intends to call for the ban.
