The French Ambassador has addressed a service at Dublin Castle to honour the victims of the Charlie Hebdo terrorist attack.

The National Union of Journalists said the ceremony was an opportunity to 'defend the right to freedom of expression'.

A roll call of the victims was read out during the event, followed by a minute's silence.
