It's something most best friends talk about more than we'd like to admit - going for a number 2.
But chances are, you've probably been doing it wrong your entire life.
A new book suggests that sitting down on the toilet seat causes a kink in your large intestine, which can lead to health problems.
Instead, the author of the delightfully-named 'Charming Bowels' says we should be squatting, a bit like you do in the gym.
Apparently that body shape is a far more 'natural' one, and encourages a bowel movement with less pressure on your backside.
And the proof is in the pooing.
People in a number of countries already go that way. Giulia Enders says “1.2 billion people around the world who squat have almost no incidence of diverticulitis and fewer problems with piles. We in the west, on the other hand, squeeze our gut tissue until it comes out of our bottoms.”
If you're afraid your toes will lose grip on the side of the toilet and you'll go head over heels off the bowl, Giulia recommends starting off by placing your feet on a stool or step in front of the toilet.
