The increase in gun crime and gangland activity in Dublin is out of control and needs to be urgently addressed.
That's according to Daithí De Róiste, Fianna Fáil Councillor and Chairman of the Joint Policing Committee in Dublin, speaking after an attempted shooting took place in the city last night.
A number of shots were fired in Islandbridge at around 7pm, however no one was hurt.
Councillor De Roiste says Gardai need to be given the resources they need so they can tackle this type of crime:
