An asylum seeker who got 575 points in the leaving cert can't go to college because her family doesn't have the money.

Ukrainian Anna Kern is living in Direct Provision but wants to study Physiotherapy at the Royal College of Surgeons.

"I want to stay in Ireland and work and study everything I could do here and lean on myself. I don't have a year or two. I want to study now and do my physiotherapy degree."

Now there are calls for the government to intervene as she doesn't qualify for state support.
