The Green Party wants RTE to leave it's campus in Donnybrook and turn it over for student accommodation.
They say the state broadcaster should move closer to the city centre where they can fit out a new facility in the city centre.
The party say only half of the 30 acre site is being used by the company and their plan means it can be opened up more.
It's just one of a number of state owned sites the party say can be used for social housing.
The party want Dublin Bus depots, currently dotted close to the city centre, to be moved to the outskirts and the vacant land used for housing developments.
The party also want NAMA owned land to be used for housing. They've highlighted the vacant Glass Bottle site in Ringsend as a place where high density housing could be built.
The party say ten thousand people could be housed if the will is there from Government to take their ideas on board.
