Calls For Deal On Junior Cert Reform

Teachers unions are being asked to reach an agreement with the government on reform to the  Junior Cert.

Schools out for 350 thousand students on Thursday as secondary teachers strike over the row on who will assess students.

The ASTI and TUI held further talks with the Education Minister Jan O'Sullivan last week.

Tomorrow's strike follows a similar work stoppage in December and teachers unions have also warned of at least one more day of action in the weeks ahead.

Rose Tully, Former president of the National Parents Council Post Primary, says all sides need to reach an agreement on the issue..
