The Transport Minister says bus routes in and around Dublin need to be redesigned to help reduce the increasing delays for commuters.

There's been an increase in traffic of 30 per cent since 2008 on some sections of the M50 with 120 thousand cars a day passing through some parts of the motorway.

Over 1 billion euro has been spent in recent years on the Newland's Cross flyover and the addition of a third lane on the M50.

However with commuters still facing increasing delays in getting to work, Minister Paschal Donohoe says other measures including changes to bus routes need to be looked at.
