Cabinet To Discuss Terror Threat To Ireland

Cabinet Ministers will be briefed by the Justice Minister on the terror threat facing Ireland. 

This mornings meeting comes ahead of the first Dáil session of the year.

Job creation and childcare costs are also up for discussion.

Francis Fitzgerald will brief her colleagues on the threat to Ireland from terror groups.

It's after last week’s attacks in France and the threat at the Intel plant in Co. Kildare made by a caller claiming to be from the Islamic State.

Minister Fitzgerald has been briefed on Garda intelligence and has already held meetings with the Taoiseach and Foreign Affairs minister on the matter.

Also on a busy Cabinet agenda are the Government’s target of creating 40-thousand new jobs this yeay, with a new Action Plan on Jobs a possibility.

New measures to reduce the cost of Ireland’s childcare costs is also up for discussion, now described as the highest in the world.
