A manhunt is underway after a nine year old boy and his family suffered a traumatic break in at their Donabate home.
An investigaiton is underway into the burglary which happened on Sunday afternoon.
The father of the boy and his two siblings were watching tv on Sunday afternoon when they heard a noise in the kitchen.
According to the Herald, when they went to look, an intruder was standing at the sink with a screwdriver demanding cash, he grabbed the boy, and held a knife to his throat.
The father handed over 70 euro, he and the children were then forced into a shed as the man made his getaway in the family car which was later found in Phibsboro.
Officers are now searching for the man who is in his 20's and known to Gardai.
