The first people to graduate from one of Dublin's music colleges had a special visitor for their graduation ceremony this week.
Legendary musician Bob Geldof travelled to Dublin to celebrate with BIMM's graduates, and advise them on how to sustain a career in the music industry.
118 students in total will graduate this Saturday from the BA (Hons) in Commercial Modern Music programme, which is Ireland’s first degree level course in modern music and validated by DIT.
As part of the course, students can choose to specialise in one of five streams: guitar, bass, drums, vocals or song writing.
The course also covers music business or artist development, so that students can develop a fully rounded approach to carving out their career in the constantly evolving music industry.
