There could be a major setback for government plans to hike the price of booze.
The EU has suggested it's going to rule against minimum pricing for alcohol.
Just like in Ireland, the Scottish government has been planning new drink laws which would put a minimum price on alcohol, depending on its strength.
This morning the EU's highest court has indicated those plans won't be allowed to go ahead in Scotland, unless it can prove it's the only way to stop binge drinking.
The court has suggested upping the tax on alcohol would be a better idea.
A final ruling is due later this year, and if the court votes the proposal down, that would put an end to Ireland's plans for minimum pricing.
