Basketball Ireland say they've contacted Gardai over online racial abuse aimed at some underage international players.
The messages appeared on anonymous social media site Ask fm and were targeted at members of the Ireland under-15 team.
Basketball Ireland President Gerard Kelly said that administrators of Ask fm and the Gardai have been contacted.
He added that they're determined to unmask the people who posted the message, calling them cowards and saying there is no room for discrimination in the sport.
