A Dublin man who threw a small dog at Gardai while they searched for a stolen post bag in his garden in January 2014 has been jailed for six years.
Daniel Ennis of Croftwood Park, Ballyfermot also admitted threatening them with a shovel and telling a female officer he’d make sure she was dead.
The 20-year-old’s sentence includes four years in jail for firing shots at a house where a woman was sleeping during a separate incident a year later.
During his hearing, Judge Martin Nolan was told the dog wasn’t hurt after being forcibly thrown at Gardai and is said to be doing fine since.
