From tomorrow, an Appointment Management System will be used for registrations at the Burgh Quay Immigration Office.
Lengthy queues have long been a source of frustration for those trying to attain visas.
Just spent three hours queuing outside the GNIB office in Burgh quay to get a number for a second queue. Staff are sound. Wait is long.

In 2015, the offices processed 75,000 registrations of non-EEA persons living in Dublin.
Customers will now be able to make an appointment in a one hour time slot starting from Thursday 15th September. There will be no need for registrants to queue or arrive before their designated time slot.
The previous arrangements whereby people queued for a ticket to be served will cease on that day.
The transfer of the registration function to INIS and the introduction of the new online appointment booking system forms part of the wider reform programme of immigration services.
