Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following a botched shooting on the northside on Friday evening.

The incident happened in the car park at Charlestown Shopping Centre in Finglas at 6:15pm.

No-one was injured in the attack.

Gardaí say a man wearing a balaclava discharged a firearm a number of times - before being driven away in a silver Volkswagen Golf with registration number 02 MH 7775.

The car was later found burned out at Shancastle Estate in Clondalkin.

An Incident Room has been set up at Finglas Garda Station and witnesses are being asked to come forward.
